PINGU

1986年一個德國人設計出一個小企鵝形象叫Pingu，4年後一個個有關Pingu的有趣的故事被拍成動畫片。住在南極的Pingu是隻十分惹人喜愛的淘氣小企鵝。雖然愛搗蛋，心腸卻很好。每當惡作劇過後，Pingu總會上成長中寶貴的一課。1992年，Pingu被Sony公司看中帶進日本市場。之後小企鵝Pingu迅速風靡全球，成為世人摯愛的卡通形象。

企鵝家族（PINGU）儼然已成為全世界家喻户曉的卡通人物，而這個故事發生在遙遠的南極世界，爸爸、媽媽、爺爺、PINGU、PINGA和小海豹ROBBY這部温馨故事系列中的基本成員，而題材的來源正是取自他們日常生活中的點點滴滴……

在瑞士蘇黎世以陶土製作的企鵝家族，是以PINGU為主軸的一些有關家庭及學校的小故事，有爸爸、媽媽、妹妹（PINGA）、好朋友（小海豹ROBBY）及女朋友（PINGI），他們在整個企鵝家族的故事中，扮演着舉足輕重的角色。

PINGU：個性開朗活潑、愛惡作劇、直腸子、精力旺盛、好動，但作為一個哥哥，因為有這樣的性格，讓爸媽覺得不可靠。

PINGA：PINGU的妹妹，當她還在蛋殼裏時，PINGU很認真的守候着她，所以即使兄妹常常吵架，他們倆的感情還是很好。

PAPA：爸爸的工作是郵差，他很辛勤的工作，也是一個全心全意愛家的好父親，而且他常常讚賞PINGU幫他送信。

MAMA：非常和藹可親的母親，性格脾氣非常好，自從妹妹出生之後，就比較偏重照顧妹妹，所以PINGU感到忌妒、寂寞。

ROBBY：和PINGU感情很好的一隻海豹，也是他最好的朋友。

PINGI：PINGU剛認識的女朋友，雖然年紀比PINGU大些，但是她可愛的模樣也是很討人喜歡。

世界上18種企鵝中，完全住在南極的只有帝企鵝和阿德利企鵝兩種，能確定 PINGU他們是屬於哪一種的證據是---其實看PINGA的樣子就可以知道，黑色的臉，銀色閃耀的羽毛，只有帝企鵝的雛鳥才會呈現這樣的顏色。其特徵是在嚴寒的冬天不築巢而養育小孩，因為是世界最大的企鵝，所以雛鳥的成長需要很長的時間，因此PINGA的羽毛還是雛鳥的羽毛。

帝企鵝一次只生產一個卵，孵化出來的雛鳥會好好地養育，父母尋找食物期間，留下來的雛鳥集中起來保育，外出回來的父母能從一窩企鵝寶寶中， 正確無誤地分辨出自己雛鳥的聲音，所以食物也一定只給自己的孩子吃。

像人類走路走不穩的是企鵝在冰上基本的姿勢，穿過混亂的村子時，會很緊張的快速通過，與別人吵架的時候會用力的向對方衝過去，緊急危險的時候會以趴著的姿勢在冰上滑行，在海中游泳時，若使用相同的姿勢，也可以增加速度。

每種動物以不同的方法，傳達自己的想法和感受給對方，那些特別的動作和叫聲稱為DISPLAY。奇妙的姿勢、吵鬧的叫聲都是企鵝們重要的語言。

PINGU們説的獨特語言是PINGU語（PINGUISH）。雖然不知道是哪一國的語言，可是大家都聽得懂，PINGU語是超越國界的，萬國共通的，是一種很了不起的語言。（PINGU的姿勢也是很棒的語言之一）

企鵝有不同的打招呼的方法，如遇到異性，若想確認雙方的感情，而有更進一步信賴對方的表現：男方會先發出聲音，把身體伸出，突出嘴巴，互相重複這個動作，想起PINGU和PINGI親密之吻。（很像人類的接吻）

帝企鵝在隆冬產卵，媽媽產卵後立即出外找食物給雛鳥，所以孵化的工作由爸爸負責，爸爸直到媽媽回來（約60天）的期間，不吃東西、持續抱着卵，雛鳥在母親回來前便出生了，所以爸爸又稱為PENGUIN MILK，PINGU的爸爸最得意的是打理家事。（像PINGA誕生一樣，帝企鵝一次產卵一個）

為了在隆冬出生的雛鳥們，爸爸媽媽必須辛苦的忍受大暴風雪，到數百公里外的海中去找食物。在雙親去覓食期間，雛鳥們被集中在繁殖地內，躲避寒冬&；保護身體，並等待父母回來，有點像幼稚園或託兒所，裏面也有幼護人員負責照顧雛鳥。（PINGA在幼稚園裏快樂的情景，在企鵝的世界竟然也有託兒所，真不可思議）

片中，PINGU和海豹ROBBY是非常要好的朋友，但在自然世界中海豹是以捕捉企鵝為生的，海豹是企鵝最危險的天敵，只有這一點，在故事中沒有像真實生態一樣。

企鵝的主食是魚，所以PINGU一家，當然也愛吃魚，就連便當也是魚，但是PINGU很討厭蔬菜，想要知道PINGU吃過蔬菜後的反應嗎？（不過魚以外的食物他也會吃啦！）

海鳥在海岸集居養育小孩，這樣子的繁殖地叫COLONY，幾個COLONY形成ROOKERY。企鵝也會形成COLONY和ROOKERY，老鳥、雛鳥、夫妻一起生活的企鵝COLONY，如理想的社會的縮影。
