在國際上最早篩選、鑑定並命名了重要的長鏈非編碼 RNA--lncRNA NRAV,發現NRAV在抗病毒天然免疫反應中具有重要調控功能

;在國際上首次應用Knockout小鼠模型,揭示了PIM激酶家族在Abl癌基因誘發淋巴細胞癌/白血病中的關鍵性作用;應用Knockout小鼠模型,揭示了Abl癌蛋白持續激活JAK/STAT信號通路的分子機理;系統地研究了病原微生物入侵機體後,T細胞活化的信號轉導通路。揭示了Itk/SLP76/PLC1信號通路的活化機制;系統地研究了一些小分子GTPase、分子馬達蛋白在細胞內物質轉運及其與細胞轉化癌變關係的分子機理。揭示了Cdc42和dynein在細胞內物質轉運中的關鍵性作用;深入地研究了細胞因子信號通路的負調控機制。闡明瞭細胞因子信號的抑制因子(SOCS1)的功能,並在國際上首次鑑定了SOCS1的磷酸化位點。

在國內外重要學術刊物上發表論文80餘篇,授權專利4項,主編專著一本(高等教育出版社,ISBN: 7-04-005107-9),其中SCI論文60餘篇,在國際核心學術刊物 Lancet、The Lancet Infectious Diseases、Cell Host & Microbe、Nucleic Acids Research、Blood、PLoS Pathogens、PNAS、Cancer Research、Oncogene、Journal of Cell Biology、Neoplasia、Journal of Virology、Journal of Biological Chemistry、Veterinary Research、Veterinary Microbiology、Molecular Cancer等雜誌上發表了高水平研究論文。先後十多次應邀參加國際學術會議,多次在大會或分組會上做學術報告或主持會議,發表了30餘篇國際學術會議論文摘要。
