從事植物病毒的分子生物學、病毒與植物的互作等方面的研究。主要研究內容為：玉米矮花葉病及粗縮病主要毒原的致病性變異與進化、病毒與寄主植物玉米的分子互作、轉基因植物抗病毒新策略的探索等。 ^[1] 

近年承擔的主要研究課題

1.主持國家自然科學基金課題：免疫親和素在玉米矮化葉病症狀形成過程的作用；紫黃質脱環氧化酶在甘蔗花葉病毒侵染玉米過程中的作用研究；玉米AKINβγ蛋白在水稻黑條矮縮病毒侵染過程中的作用研究；

2.參加國家重點研發計劃：主要農作物病蟲草害綠色防控技術規程 ^[1]
