水仙

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,

When all at once i saw a crowd,

A host,of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake,beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the Milky Way,

They stretched in never-ending line

Along the margin of a bay:Ten thousand saw i at a glance

Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced, but they

Out-did the sparking waves in glee:

A Poet could not but be gay

In such a jocund company:

I gazed—and gazed—but little thought

What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch i lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

And dances with the daffodils.

詩歌前兩節描寫了詩人看到的美麗的自然景色。第三節描寫了詩人的內心感覺：歡樂，平和。詩人運用了第一人稱（浪漫主義的另一特點），他把自己比作一朵浮雲，在這一片水仙花上俯視着它們。詩人還運用擬人手法表達了對大自然的熱愛：The cloud wandered，the waves danced，但其重點還是放在水仙花上。他把它們寫成“a crowd”，“a host”，“a company”，“They dance and toss their heads”，它們還會表達歡樂愉快（“glee”，“jocund”）的心情呢!

詩歌的最後一節，詩人強調了回憶的重要性。他告訴我們當他處於空虛黯然的心情（in vacant or pensive mood），這一簇簇美麗的水仙花就會出現在他的回憶中（flash upon that inward eye），詩歌中的“inward eye”就是指他的回憶。它們幫助他度過了生命中的困難時期。當我們處在孤獨與無助時，我們也可以回憶我們曾經感受大自然的美好時光，讓自己感覺好起來。
