情人；情人節禮物
瓦倫丁節，又稱情人節，是歐美和大洋洲的一些國家的民族節日。此節日的來源甚多，但一般認為起源於羅馬聖教徒瓦倫丁被處死，後被定為"情人節"。
公元3世紀，羅馬帝國出現全面危機，經濟凋敝，統治階級腐敗，社會動盪不安，人民紛紛反抗。貴族階級為維護其統治，殘暴鎮壓民眾和基督教徒。是時有一位教徒瓦倫丁，被捕入獄。在獄中，他以坦誠之心打動了典獄長的女兒。他們相互愛慕，並得到典獄長女兒的照顧。統治階級下令將他執行死刑。在臨刑前，他給典獄長女兒寫了一封長長的遺書，表明自己是無罪的。表明他光明磊落的心跡和對典獄長女兒深深眷戀。
公元270年2月14日，他被處死刑，後來，基督教徒為了紀念瓦倫丁為正義、為純潔的愛而犧牲自己，將臨刑的這一天定為"情人節"，希望有情人終成眷屬。
另外一個較為普遍的故事是公元三世紀，羅馬帝國出現全面危機，羅馬教皇徵集許多男子為士兵，為了使士兵在戰場上更加的英勇無畏，一心殺敵，不允許他們結婚成家。但是瓦倫丁違反羅馬教皇的命令，偷偷地為許多年輕的夫婦主持見證婚禮，因此，在公元269年的2月14日，教皇下令將瓦倫丁處死。14世紀以後，人們開始慶祝Valentine's Day ，用以紀念那位為情人做主而犧牲的神父。
