《Bang Bang》最初是寫給愛莉安娜·格蘭德的，但當時她不喜歡這首歌就拒絕了，於是這首歌被傳到了Jessie J，然後是妮琪·米娜，他們都錄製了自己的部分。後來，愛莉安娜再次遇見了這首歌，她又喜歡上了它，並想要回它，可是最終這首歌成了Jessie J的第三張錄音室專輯《Sweet Talker》的歌曲，且僅作為豪華版的附贈品收錄於愛莉安娜的第二張錄音室專輯《My Everything》

《Bang Bang》令人聯想起Wham!的《Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go》，而且它的整體結構與《Lady Marmalade》類似，但它缺少《Lady Marmalade》的那種歌手之間水乳相融的感覺，雖是演唱者們的首次“合作”，但是Jessie J高亢氣長的高音、愛莉安娜·格蘭德招牌式的“海豚高音”、妮琪·米娜的高速説唱，這些特色似乎無法形成一個整體
