第27屆美國演員工會獎獎項幕後
- 該屆屆美國演員工會獎首次在Instagram線上舉行提名典禮 [5] 。
- 由於新型冠狀病毒肺炎（COVID-19）疫情的影響，該屆美國演員工會獎首次在線上舉行頒獎典禮。此外，頒獎典禮無主持人，並且頒獎典禮在實際播出日前便進行了線上舉辦 [6] 。
第27屆美國演員工會獎獎項評析
第27屆美國演員工會獎的獲獎名單有不少早在意料之中，比如查德維克·博斯曼的電影類最佳男主角，在2020年因癌症病故的他，此前已憑藉《藍調天后》拿下了第78屆美國電影電視金球獎、第26屆評論家選擇獎以及多地的影評人協會獎，此番再次拿下美國演員工會獎也是眾望所歸。此外，憑藉《猶大與黑彌賽亞》獲得電影類最佳男配角的丹尼爾·卡盧亞也幾乎毫無懸念

電影類獎項的主要懸念都落在女性表演類獎項上，不論是最佳女主角還是最佳女配角，在2020年至2021年好萊塢頒獎季都是幾大熱門人選輪流坐莊，很難説誰跑在了前面，在該屆美國演員工會獎上，電影類最佳女主角則是“輪到”了《藍調天后》的主演維奧拉·戴維斯，她終於戰勝了《前程似錦的女孩》的主演凱瑞·穆里根等勁敵。而在最佳女配角上，在《米納裏》裏飾演外婆的尹汝貞，力克其他提名者，但未獲獎的3位提名者同樣也拿到第93屆奧斯卡金像獎的競逐資格，最終誰將拿下“小金人”，依舊要打個問號

值得一提的是，該屆美國演員工會獎電影類最佳羣戲的5部提名影片中，破天荒有4部是少數族裔演員挑大樑，分別是《誓血五人組》《邁阿密的一夜》《藍調天后》和《米納裏》，但最終拿下電影類最佳羣戲的還是白人演員為主的《芝加哥七君子審判》。不過，電影類4個單人表演獎項全部授予少數族裔，這算是美國演員工會獎上頭一遭

電視類獎項方面，該屆美國演員工會獎與第78屆美國電影電視金球獎的重合度相當之高，《王冠第四季》和《窮家富路第六季》依然是最大贏家。不過，在《王冠第四季》中飾演撒切爾夫人的吉蓮·安德森擊敗了飾演黛安娜王妃的艾瑪·科林，拿下劇情類最佳女演員
