1997年畢業於西北師範大學數學系，畢業後在甘肅農業大學理學院任教至今。2001年考入蘭州大學數學系讀碩士學位（生物數學和系統優化），於2003年提前免試推薦到蘭州大學生乾旱農業生態國家重點實驗室攻讀博士學位（數學生態學），2006年博士畢業。研究興趣，數學和理論生物學, 特別是空間生態學、進化博弈理論、空間結構種羣的進化生態學理論、生物多樣性的模式和機理。
