Time in a Bottle

Time in a Bottle（時光寶瓶）是美國民謠搖滾歌手Jim Croce第三張錄音室專輯《You Don't Mess Around with Jim》（1972年4月）中的一首歌，當時沒有作為單曲發行，直至Jim Croce因飛機失事去世後，ABC唱片公司發行了單曲版。這首歌成為Jim Croce第二首也是最後一首Billboard Hot 100冠軍單曲， ^[1]  成為繼Otis Redding《(Sittin’On)The Dock Of The Bay》、Janis Joplin《Me and Bobby McGee》之後第三位在藝人去世後的冠軍單曲，同時歌曲所屬專輯《You Don't Mess Around with Jim》大賣，1974年年初在Billboard 200獲得冠軍五週的佳績，成為Jim Croce唯一的冠軍專輯。

此曲用於多部電影的背景音樂，如：《醉後大丈夫2》、《X戰警：逆轉未來》等。 ^[2] 

1970年年底，Jim Croce妻子告訴他懷孕的消息，經常在外演出的Jim Croce深感內疚，於是滿懷感激地創作出了生平最有名的歌曲——《Time in a Bottle》。

時光滴答滴答走的當中，夢也一場一場的來到，最後總覺得一些遺憾在，如果時間再多一點的話，或者時間能走慢一點的話，可能有些夢還來得及遂願，但是，就像我寫的歌，我正在寫《匆匆》這首歌的時候，它是我第二首作品，這個歌裏面的時間是一個箭頭一直往前走，那不是説我們虛擲光陰，是光陰把我們拋得遠遠的，但是我們一直在唱Jim Croce的一首歌，叫做《Time in a Bottle》。我才知道，原來也有人希望時間是可以鎖在瓶子裏的，可以把一些還沒有達到的願望或者可以把它暫時鎖在一個地方。 ^[4]

Jim Croce（吉米·克羅斯，1943年1月10日—1973年9月20日），美國民謠歌手，在其短暫的一生中共發行了5張錄音室專輯和11支單曲，也是在音樂界為數不多的去世後有冠軍專輯（《You Don't Mess Around with Jim》）和單曲（《Time in a Bottle》）的歌手，1990年入駐Songwriters Hall of Fame（創作人名人堂）。 ^[6]
