Coldplay是英國搖滾樂壇進入新世紀之後崛起的最受歡迎的搖滾樂隊之一，他們秉承了英式搖滾樂隊一貫的Britpop/Alternative Rock英倫風格，成為了英國新一代樂隊中的傑出代表。

Coldplay有四個成員，樂隊最早成形於倫敦大學學院(UCL)時期。團員包括Chris Martin（主唱、鍵盤、吉他）、jon buckland（主奏吉他）、Guy Berryman（貝斯吉他）及Will Champion（鼓、合音、其他樂器）。Coldplay樂隊成軍之後的每一張專輯都不斷進步，一步一步地擴大他們的影響，如今他們正處於事業的快速上升期。 ^[1] 

《Parachutes》是Coldplay在利物浦的Parr Street Studio錄音室，與曾為Gomez、Badly Drawn Boy作嫁的Ken Nelson共同製作。純淨、美麗的中、慢板旋律加上主唱Chris Martin神似Thom Yorke(Radiohead主唱)輕柔卻極具戲劇張力的淳美歌聲，10首慢流一致浪漫、迷美情緒的歌謠。 ^[2]
