Blondie成立於1974年，以復古、仿效60年代女子樂團為出發點，不僅成為紐約朋克最早的者之一，後來並引爆了美國新浪潮朋克最燦爛的一頁，而這一切皆歸功於女主唱Deborah Harry的成功形象與精湛的演出。Blondie的音樂呈現出極具旋律感的新浪潮，以及音樂節拍鮮明的朋克風等雙重特色，再加上女主唱令人回憶起性感女神瑪麗蓮夢露般嬌豔、性感的形象與歌聲，成功地把音樂與個人魅力發揮到淋漓盡致，始得他們成為70年末、80年初紐約最具影響力的樂隊之一，更是New York Punk Rock的代表。

1976年發表的首張同名專輯，與流行、舞曲等有着巧妙的聯繫，立刻就有了一個好的開始，之後所發行的“Parallel Lines”、“Eat To The Beat”、“Auto American” 等一連串專輯唱片，不僅有優秀的排行榜成績，銷售量也都獲得破百萬張的白金唱片榮耀。成功的過程一直到1981年Deborah Harry發表首張個人作品，她也開始加入電影的拍攝工作。後來因吉他手丈夫亦是團中與Deborah Harry共擔創作靈魂人物的Chris Stein生病，使得樂隊無法持續，Blondie的輝煌歲月終於告一段落。在樂壇消失了許多年後，直到1998年原始團員再度複合。至1982年年底宣佈解散為止，Blondie一共推出過6張錄音室作品，創造了6首冠軍曲，2張Top10的專輯，深刻地影響後來女子朋克/新浪潮舞曲藝人團體的爭相模仿。

女主唱Deborah Harry的個人魅力沒有隨着她年齡的增長而衰退，明顯帶有迪斯科風格的作品為後代的DISCO-PUNK埋下了伏筆。
