Kendall Schmidt因在尼克頻道（Nickelodeon）劇集《Big Time Rush》中飾演Kendall Knight一角而廣為熟知，在由劇集衍生出來的同名流行搖滾樂隊中他擔任着團長一職。在加盟尼克之前，Schmidt在影視劇中也已經初露頭角，他曾在熱門劇集《歡樂一家親》（Frasier）中客串。在2009年，他因Big Time Rush這支樂隊與哥倫比亞唱片（Columbia Records）簽約。其實他也是 一個非常‘competitive’ 的傢伙。

Schmidt was born in Wichita, Kansasto Kent and Kathy Schmidt. He is the youngest of 3 boys. He has two older brothers, Kevin Schmidt, an actor, and Kenneth. Schmidt first started acting because of his two older brothers who wanted to start acting and at the age of 10, his family moved to California. Schmidt started singing at the age of 5. Schmidt was the last actor to be cast and the show even filmed a pilot episode that did not contain his character. He currently plays "Kendall Knight", the main character on the Nickelodeon show, Big Time Rush.

Schmidt began his acting career at age six, appearing in a Chextelevision commercial. When he was 10 years old, he was one of two young actors who was hired to be Haley Joel Osment's stand-in and body double (they shared the same agent) in the Steven Spielbergfilm, A.I. Artificial Intelligence.He celebrated his birthday on the set, and Spielberg and the cast surprised him with a birthday cake decorated with Star Warsfigures.Schmidt also appeared in Ghost Whisperer.

In mid 2009, Schmidt was cast in the Nickelodeonseries Big Time Rushas one of the four main characters, Kendall Knight. The show premiered to a record breaking 7.1 million total viewers, making it the highest rated premiere for a live action series in Nickelodeonhistory. Big Time Rush made an appearance at the 2010 Kids' Choice Awards and performed at the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards. "Big Time Rush" is currently renewed for a third season and will begin filming after their winter tour Music Sounds Better With U.
