來自柏林的Modern Talking(摩登淘金)成立於1983年，團員包括作曲兼製作人Dieter Bohlen以及當時堪稱“少女殺手”的俊美主唱Thomas Anders。在短短的兩三年間，他們陸續以“You`re My Heart,You`re My Soul”、“You Can Win If You Want”、“Cheri Cheri Lady”、“Brother Louie”等暢銷曲風靡全球，成為80年代中期歐陸舞曲樂壇的唯一代名詞。但由於兩人之間的不合愈演愈烈，於1987年發表第五張專輯後分道揚鑣，Bohlen另組了Blue System，而Andres則是全力發展個人事業。

事隔10年，兩人在1998年又出乎意料地宣佈前嫌盡釋，推出了重組後的首張混音精選大碟《Back For Good》（言歸於好），而在1999年於2000年也相繼發表《Alone》、《2000:Year Of The Dragon》等創作大碟。 ^[3]
