Bleeding Love創作背景

歌手傑西·麥卡尼和瑞恩·泰德合作創作了該曲，歌詞靈感來源於傑西·麥卡尼的異地戀 [5]  。傑西·麥卡尼與女友分手4個月後依舊沒能走出失戀的陰霾，甚至想放棄自己的音樂生涯。那段時期，“我太愛她了，愛得很痛苦。就像流血一樣，把我切開”這句話湧入他的腦海，藉此他創作了這首歌的歌詞 [6]  。然而他所屬的好萊塢唱片公司並不喜歡這首歌 [5]  。而為麗安娜·劉易斯製作專輯《Spirit》的克萊夫·戴維斯聽到了這首歌曲，認為很適合她 [7]  。所以這首歌最終到了麗安娜·劉易斯的手中 [5]  。
