麥克白

蘇格蘭王鄧肯的表弟麥克白將軍勇猛聰明，為國王平叛和抵禦入侵立功歸來，路遇三個女巫，女巫對於麥克白未來地位的預言使其野心和貪慾膨脹。在心狠的夫人的慫恿下，麥克白謀殺了鄧肯，繼承了蘇格蘭王王位。為掩人耳目和防止他人奪位，他又設計害死了更多無辜的人。達到權力高峯的麥克白疑神疑鬼，心神不寧，也越來越冷酷，即便在得知夫人精神失常而死後，其反應也異常冷淡。眾叛親離下，麥克白面對鄧肯之子和他請來的英格蘭援軍的圍攻，終於理解了女巫預言的真正含義，卻為時已晚，落得被削首的下場。《麥克白》同《奧賽羅》《哈姆雷特》和《李爾王》一起組成莎士比亞"四大悲劇"。
