陳孝鈿描繪出了首張銀河系恆星盤三維全貌圖^[5] ，以一作或通訊作者身份發表SCI論文20餘篇，包括Nature，Nature Astronomy等，其中一篇文章被評為2019全球最具社會影響力的百篇論文，兩篇文章被評為IOP出版社高被引論文。先後主持國家自然科學基金項目2項。^[3]
