在《荷東》和《猛士》的影響下，國內音樂人制作出了以翻唱英文原曲並用中文填詞為主的《狂熱》系列，其中以《87狂熱》最為著名，在當時創造成了驚人的銷量奇蹟。連續三年位居全國音像製品銷售榜前三。劉克配器，黃蒲生的詞，劉鴻、鄧潔儀的演唱.，並被評為中國音像出版史流行樂十大知名磁帶。為國內本土流行樂成長時期中的代表性的成功作品，通過歌曲,歌詞反映了那個時代人們內心的騷動。

在《狂熱》系列中，絕大多數都是填詞翻唱，現任廣東教育出版社期刊中心總經理、廣東電視台編導的著名填詞人、著名詩人黃蒲生功不可沒。其中的原創歌曲也不遜於翻唱歌曲，最著名的一首歌《站台》就是原創歌曲，這首歌時至今日仍是經典中的經典，並有一部同名電影，其中主題歌用的就是《站台》這首歌。本專輯中的另外一首唱遍大江南北的歌曲就是《路燈下的小姑娘》。

對於當年的所有歌迷、聽眾來説，都是隻聞其聲未見其人。20多年後，鄧潔儀於2011年6月22日，在深圳音樂廳舉行的“南都·經典撐大運·深圳第一代流行歌手懷舊音樂會”上演唱《路燈下的小姑娘》，引起了現場觀眾的共鳴。
