1975.9—1978.7 中山大學化學系高分子專業學習;
1978.7—1982.8 中山大學化學系高分子研究所教師;
1982 公派赴美留學;
1987 獲美國紐約市立大學博士學位,其後在美國北卡羅萊納州立大學材料科學與工程系做博士後研究;
1989.6 回國工作;
1992—1994 任中山大學材料科學研究所副所長;
1996 獲“國家傑出青年科學基金”;
1994—1999 任化學與化學工程學院副院長;
1999.8—2011.9 任中山大學副校長;
