1998年-2002年第二軍醫大學,講師/副教授/教研室主任;2002年-2004年美國密蘇里哥倫比亞大學營養學系博士後;2004-2007年美國哈佛醫學院任講師;2008年美國佛羅里達大學研究副教授;2008年回國,中國科學院上海生命科學研究院研究員、博士生導師、首席科學家、分子營養學實驗室主任。2013年~浙江大學求是特聘教授;2013-2014年任浙江大學公共衞生學院院長;2014年~任浙江大學營養與食品安全研究所所長。2015-2018兼任鄭州大學公共衞生學院長。2021年~南華大學副校長/南華大學衡陽醫學院院長。

營養學是公共衞生體系核心學科,大力發展營養學是實現健康強國的核心戰略。鐵鋅等 金屬離子是人體必需營養素,更是營養學研究皇冠上的明珠。科學攻關金屬離子失衡機制及 防控策略關乎我國公共衞生頂層設計、全民健康體系構建和重大疾病防控決策部署。王福俤 教授30餘年聚焦金屬離子前沿研究,創新金屬離子時空穩態調控理論,創建靶向調控金屬離 子和鐵死亡精準疾病防控理論體系,推動金屬離子營養標準體系建設,創制多個靶向金屬離 子和鐵死亡新藥並提出公共衞生安全中國方案,系列重大原創突破引領國際前沿,成為營養 學、生物金屬離子和鐵死亡領域全球領導者。全球數千萬患者人羣受益,強力支撐健康中國 2030 戰略。
王福俤教授深耕營養科學,是鐵鋅金屬離子代謝、鐵死亡和鐵科學研究的全球頂尖學者。 作風優良,培養數百名青年人才,原創成果產生了巨大的社會效益和經濟效益,推動了營養 科學發展,形成了卓越國際學術影響力,為切實維護國民健康、服務科技強國戰略做出了傑 出貢獻。

科學影響力:近年,在金屬離子代謝、細胞鐵死亡與器官損傷領域獲得系列重大突破,引領國際學術前沿。在Nature、Nature Genetics、Nature Medicine、Nature Reviews Cardiology、Cell Research、Blood、Hepatology及PNAS等優秀期刊發表論文200餘篇,包括21篇封面論文、20篇高被引論文、6篇1‰熱點論文。論文總影響因子超過2310,論文他引近16000次,H指數64。學術期刊特邀主編4部雜誌專欄。原創成果被Nature、Cell、Nature Reviews、《新英格蘭醫學雜誌》等頂刊正面引用和評論;Circulation、Blood、Cell Research、Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy和Protein & Cell等專業頂刊專文評述或新聞報道多次;多項科研成果被納入國際臨牀指南和權威工具教科書。

轉化醫學研究:授權國家發明專利12項。以祛鐵靶向鐵死亡為科學理論依據,合作研發針對靶向鐵過載及鐵死亡疾患的1.1類全新祛鐵藥,已開展II期臨牀試驗;以鋅為人類必微量元素及防治多種疾病新發現為理論依據,合作研發氨基酸鋅二類新藥1項,已在2000餘家醫院應用推廣,銷售額累計約30億元;以黑豆補鐵為科學理論依據,合作研發新型功能食品已在市場試推廣。
