澳大利亞福建學生會

社團組織架構由主席團、秘書處、財務部、活動部、人事部、宣傳部、外聯部及地區與學校負責人構成。

Hokkien Students’ Association （Hereinafter referred to as ‘the Society’）

1.1 Definitions

The term Hokkien Students in this constitution is not only referring to people who come from the province in China normally known as Fujian, which includes both northern and southern parts, but also referring to those whose ethnicity, culture, heritage and native language that heavily influenced from Hokkien, such as from Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, etc;

The term Hokkien as referred in this constitution represents the ethnicity, culture, heritage and language that have derived from Hokkien originally and does not exclusively represent the fixed geographical area in China.

2.1 “The Society” is not-for-profit; meaning: the assets and income of the society shall be applied solely in furtherance of the aims of the society and no portion shall be distributed directly or indirectly to the members of the society except as bona fide compensation expenses incurred on behalf of the society

2.2 The aims of the Society shall be to:

2.2.1 Provide a platform for its members, in particular those who are from Hokkien, or are Hokkien speakers, or have a Hokkien background or heritage, or have interests in Hokkien culture, to connect, communicate, socialise to better experience the academic, cultural and community environment in University Campus;

2.2.2 Offer supports, opportunities and benefits for its members within and outside the University;

2.2.3 Promote, enhance, appreciate and reserve the uniqueness and the diverse nature of Hokkien culture.

2.3 The Society will undertake the following activities to achieve its aims （this list is not exhaustive）:

2.3.1 Organising trips or excursions for the members;

2.3.2 Acting as a platform to connect with other cultural societies;

2.3.3 Seeking discounts for the members such as international flight tickets back home;

2.3.4 Connecting organisations both in home countries and in Australia with the members to provide a better employment perspective;

3.1 The Society shall have an Executive consisting of:

（i） A President

（ii） A Vice President（s）

（iii） A Secretary

（iv） A Treasurer

（v） Executive Member（s）.

3.2 The Executive shall have power to manage the Society in accordance with this Constitution.

3.3 Attendance of Executive Members at Ordinary and General Meetings is obligatory. Any Executive Member who does not attend three consecutive meetings without leave can be dismissed from the Executive by a two-thirds majority vote of those Ordinary Members and Honorary Members who would otherwise be eligible for Ordinary Membership in attendance at an Ordinary Meeting.

社團通過線上平台（微信 Facebook 微博）的宣傳與推廣、線下活動的舉辦，截止目前（2020年11月）澳大利亞福建學生會可聯繫到的在澳福建同學/校友已經超過1500人，覆蓋澳洲各大高校。
