我見過你哭

I SAW THEE’WEEP

I saw thee weep the big bright tear

Came out that eye of blue;

And then me thought it did appear

A violet dropping dew:

I see thee smile

the sapphire’s blaze

Beside thee ceased to shine;

It could not match the living rays

That filled that glance of thine.

As clouds from yonder sun receive

A deep and mellow dye

Which scarce the shade of coming eve

Can banish from the sky,

Those smiles unto the moodiest mind

Their own pure joy impart;

Their sunshine leaves a glow behind

That lightens on the heart.

作者是喬治·戈登·拜倫（1788—1824），是英國19世紀初期偉大的浪漫主義詩人。其代表作品有《恰爾德·哈羅德遊記》、《唐璜》等。在他的詩歌裏塑造了一批“拜倫式英雄”。拜倫不僅是一位偉大的詩人，還是一個為理想戰鬥一生的勇士；他積極而勇敢地投身革命，參加了希臘民族解放運動，併成為領導人之一。
