彭博學術成就

長期以來從事細菌耐藥及其代謝調控方面的研究。近年來,通過功能代謝組學發現,耐藥菌的代謝狀態決定耐藥性。通過關鍵代謝物將細菌的耐藥代謝狀態逆轉為敏感代謝狀態,從而提高耐藥菌對抗生素的敏感性,促進胞外抗生素進入胞內,提高胞內抗生素濃度,高效殺死細菌。細菌耐藥代謝組的發現和關鍵代謝物逆轉耐藥性新概念的提出,對建立控制細菌耐藥的新策略具有十分重要的價值。此外,從宿主中發現抗耐藥菌代謝狀態生物標誌物作為調節物,使宿主從對病原菌敏感代謝狀態轉為對病原菌抵抗狀態,增強宿主抗感染能力,減輕和消除病原菌對宿主的侵染作用。並在研究細菌耐藥性的過程中,發現在一個新的產能循環,丙酮酸循環而不是三羧酸循環為細菌提供能量。 [1]
