1998年7月畢業於西北大學生物學系, [4] 
2000年開始在西北大學地質學系攻讀碩士和博士學位, [4] 
2006年6月獲西北大學古生物與地層學理學博士學位, [1]  [4] 
2009-2010年瑞典烏普薩拉大學訪問學者(博士後), [1] 
2011-2014年任中國科學院南京地質古生物研究所在職博士後; [4] 
2012年3月—2014年3月擔任國家自然科學基金委地球科學部古生物學與地層學流動項目主任, [4] 
現任西北大學地質學系教授。 [1]

張志飛主要貢獻

主持國家自然科學基金項目、第十二屆霍英東教育基金會青年教師基礎研究課題基金和教育部全國優秀博士學位作者專項基金等多項研究課題、參與國家重大基礎科學研究(973)項目、教育部創新團隊項目等研究項目多項,主要從事華南早寒武世腕足動物的起源、輻射和環境適應性演化研究,曾先後在英國皇家學報和美、英、法、波蘭、瑞典、日本等國際古生物學報和動物學報以第一作者發表學術論文十餘篇。
