《Rebirth》發表後的一段時間裏,Peter並沒有很快着手PAIN新專輯的製作,而是將更多的精力傾注在幫助其他樂隊製作新專輯上,包括 DESTRUCTION,DIMMU BORGIR,IMMORTAL,DARK FUNERAL等多支樂隊在內的許多優秀專輯都陸續在Peter經營的 ABYSS STUDIO中瀝煉後出爐[這個在圈內極富盛名的錄音工作室其前身是Parlby當地的一家精神病院,後被Peter買下改建為工作室, ABYSS STUDIO自成立後,先後有100餘張各色專輯在此製作完成]
2002年1月,沉寂了近3年的PAIN終於浮出水面,發表了他們的第三張正式錄音室專輯《Nothing Remains The Same》[面目全 非],其中的單曲《Shut Your Mouth》[關掉你的嘴]很快登上排行榜,PAIN還特地再次邀請到曾經有過多次合作的音樂製片人 Mikeadelica為他們指導該單曲MV的拍攝工作,這首歌的VIDEO拍攝很有意思,內容表現一架UFO登陸地球,降落在Peter家屋外,驚醒了午夜沉睡的Peter,飛船內的外星人居然入侵到Peter家中,並反客為主對Peter推推搡搡,指指點點，於是Peter報警,但官方並沒有對此事予以足夠的重視......沒想到在金屬樂壇混跡了這麼長時間，Peter至今還是‘童心未泯’,這首MV被副贈在專輯中.專輯獲得了比以往兩張專輯更好的評價, Peter仍然包攬了專輯中所有最主要的工作,演唱、吉他、創作、編曲、後期製作等等,專輯中的作品更多的融入了工業及電子舞曲等時尚的音樂元素,金屬音樂元素正在逐步的消減退化,毫不客氣的講,PAIN的音樂已經完全的脱離了正統的金屬音樂模式,用個金屬迷都很忌諱的的詞就是變得很Commercial [商業化]了,Peter稱自己在PAIN中所嘗試的音樂類型是Techno-Metal.的確,在PAIN的音樂中合成器所營造的音樂氛圍構建了整部音樂最主要的骨架,只有不時穿插在其中的厚重而強勁吉他Riff,Solo還隱約讓你體會到幾絲金屬音樂的味道（更多的樂迷喜歡將PAIN的音樂稱作工業流行金屬〈Industrial Pop Metal〉）
其實從公平的角度講,拋開Hypocrisy給我們造成的深刻印象,單就PAIN的音樂,其可聽性還是很強的,Peter作為不可多得的金屬音樂奇才,對於金屬音樂的各個層面,各個角度都充滿着無限的好奇與嚮往,他不希望自己的音樂總是墨守成規,更不喜歡總是一味的不斷重複以往的音樂風格,其實熟悉 Hypocrisy的樂迷,通過該樂隊成長過程中音樂模式的變更,就應該有所體會,Peter希望嘗試更多的在自己的音樂中加入不同的音樂素材,與自己以前所駕馭的音樂模式磨合,並不斷的在其中吸取經驗,拓寬自己的音樂視野,從而使自己的音樂可以表現更多更復雜的思想理念.通過 《Nothing Remains The Same》,我們可以感受到PAIN的音樂逐步轉向成熟,其中有很多不錯的曲目可以推薦給大家,如 《Just hate me》[憎恨我],《Injected Paradise》[墜入天堂],《Fade Away》[褪色]等,還有那首Peter 與另一位金屬樂大師級人物Dan Swano共同合作翻唱The Beatles的作品《Eleanor Rigby》.專輯封面設計也受到樂迷的讚賞(由來自奧地利的資深視覺設計師Joachim Luetke為Peter親自操刀,專輯封面在發表前兩天才最終決定),裝扮成末世天使的Peter抑鬱的遠望,他內心中存留着怎樣的痛苦,在PAIN的音樂中將註釋給你....
