1.N a state of frenzied sexual excitement in the males of certain large mammals, esp elephants, associated with discharge from a gland between the ear and eye (雄象等的)發情期狂暴 ^[1] 

Most cases of elephants charging and attacking inanimate objects or rampaging through villages occur when the bull is in musth.公象追逐和攻擊靜物或到村莊發狂的大多數案例都發生在發情期。

Elephants are generally peaceful creatures, but elephant bulls are known for being particularly aggressive especially when in musth.一般來説，大象是一種温和的動物，但公象在發情期間會特別有攻擊性。 ^[1]
