2009年年底，曲婉婷轉往温哥華西門菲沙大學攻讀經濟學，但她對此毫無興趣，外加與男友的分手，於是曲婉婷決定休學五個月，開始了她的四處演唱及創作之路。在這段期間內，她創作出了許多歌曲，包括《Drenched》。2012年，創作《春嬌與志明》劇本的導演彭浩翔聽到了這首歌曲，隨後他邀請曲婉婷為該電影獻聲 ^[3]  。
