When We Were Young創作背景
阿黛爾·阿德金斯和小託拜厄斯·傑索完成了《When We Were Young》的詞曲部分，邀請阿里爾·雷希特謝德參與加工製作。拿到初稿後，他來到洛杉磯進行處理。之後，三人開始錄製這首歌，花費三天時間。期間，阿里爾聽了《25》的小樣，對歌曲進行調整。阿黛爾第一次錄製這首歌曲的時候就抓住了歌曲的情緒，完成了錄製。後來，阿里爾又有了新的想法，他和小託拜厄斯又唱了一些段落，寄給阿黛爾作為參考，對歌曲進行調整。最終，兩人演唱的部分作為和聲出現在歌曲的正式版本。錄製期間，阿黛爾即興創作了許多歌詞
