注：“youth”一詞可譯作青春，也可譯作少年，考慮到作為青春為不可數，而歌詞中則使用“a youth”一詞，再結合歌詞中的“a maid”一詞，其實不難猜出歌詞中的“youth”應該理解為“少年”。

尼諾·羅塔（意大利語：Nino Rota，1911年12月3日－1979年4月10日），意大利作曲家，亦常為電影配樂。 　在11歲時就寫出一部清唱劇，後來到羅馬聖塞西莉亞音樂學院（Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia）從卡塞拉和皮澤蒂學習。畢業後曾短暫留居美國，並開始創作電影配樂，一生共寫了一百多部，包括不少費德里柯·費里尼及盧奇諾·維斯孔蒂的電影，卻以《教父》及其續集最為知名。另外也寫了很多古典音樂作品，包括10部歌劇及5部芭蕾舞。

羅塔的創作風格比較傳統，特別擅長寫作優美的旋律，作品廣為傳播，為大眾所喜愛。
