Vision Of Love創作背景

1986年，上高中的瑪麗亞·凱莉開始寫歌。之後她遇到了本·馬古賴斯，兩人成為好友並開始一起創作歌曲。這段時間，兩人寫下了《Vision of Love》等歌曲。她表示這首歌是一首為生活喝彩的愛情歌曲^[4] 。

1989年，瑪麗亞·凱莉與哥倫比亞唱片公司簽約，開始重新制作《Vision of Love》。製作人雷特·勞倫斯聽完原版後，認為這首歌聽起來比較像20世紀50年代的歌曲，於是他又徵得她的同意調整了這首歌的節奏。雷特·勞倫斯從最初的版本中提取了她的聲音作為和聲。進一步加工後這首歌最終完成^[5] 。
