Imagine Dragons主唱丹·雷諾斯表示，這首歌是他對過去的回顧，他曾經跟周圍的一切格格不入，做音樂是其唯一的解脱，而他總是羞於跟其他人分享。對丹·雷諾斯來説，那段時期像是雷鳴前的閃電，他告訴自己要做自己熱愛的事情，要到世界各地，為人們分享音樂，《Thunder》也由此誕生

《Thunder》令人眼睛為之一亮，歌中雖保有Imagine Dragons招牌的大氣磅礡感，但融入了EDM元素，旋律洗腦，新鮮感十足。除了音樂風格之外，Imagine Dragons也改變了過往剛硬、極具戰鬥力的唱法，改而使用俏皮口吻，或可以説是一種父親對孩子耳提面命的温柔口吻。歌詞內容雖淺顯易懂，卻寓意深遠

《Thunder》MV由約瑟夫·卡安執導，發佈於2017年5月2日，在迪拜取景。MV以三道顯眼的橙綠藍光束為開頭，接着出現了主唱丹·雷諾斯與另外三個外星人站成一排的景象。而後一連串的外星人現代舞表演，似乎表現了他們充滿好奇心的內心狀態，也因此在城市中到處探索，搭上隨處可見的飛行羊只，讓整支MV充滿了詭異的魔幻氛圍
