來自美國的The Last Goodnight（晚安樂團）讓人略感陌生，但實際上是幾支優秀年輕樂隊的完美組合，其核心靈魂人物John是這支樂隊成功重要因素，最初看到專集的封面感覺略有恐怖，John在解釋唱片封面的時候説到，這個社會雖然充滿了無情和險惡，但其實我們的情感永遠是美麗的！

從傳統流行金嗓女伶Ella Fitzgerald，1990年代崛起的英倫搖滾名團The Verve主唱Richard Ashcroft，1970年代極為活躍的英國前衞搖滾隊伍Supertramp，1960年代竄起的靈魂/放克/迷幻大團Sly & The Family Stone，愛爾蘭搖滾靚團U2到trip-hop電子搖滾酷團Massive Attack，這些都是來自美國康乃狄克州的流行搖滾樂團The Last Goodnight汲取音樂創作養分的泉源，光從這些創作泉源看來，就知這是一支難以被歸類或定型的樂團，樂團主唱Kurtis John表示：「我們要寫出大家都沒聽過的好歌，全都取決於節奏的震動感，我們要在每一個創作面相都保有自發性與冒險性格，在錄音室中，我們運用鼓樂器的多變性建構所有的歌曲，最後再用現場打擊的鼓樂來完成所有得歌曲，我們想要讓歌曲在創作的過程中找到節奏，我喜歡音樂創作中意想不到的感覺，裝載著絕望與很受傷感覺的歌詞混搭著暢快的副歌。」The Last Goodnight樂團加盟主流大廠Virgin唱片公司的首張專輯《Poison Kiss》就是在這樣子的創作要求高標下所完成的作品。
《Poison Kiss》專輯在推出後一路挺進到Billboard熱門潛力榜第5名，專輯裏頭的首支單曲〈Pictures Of You〉不僅搶下Billboard TOP40熱門成人抒情榜冠軍，還在世界各地寫下優異成績，在澳洲、意大利、新加坡等地勇奪電台點播榜冠軍，同時搶進歐洲電台點播榜前30名。由奧斯卡影后莎莉菲爾德與「艾莉的異想世界」女主角Calista Flockhart所合演的熱門影集「兄弟姊妹」（Brothers & Sisters）都選用這首歌曲來做為宣傳2007-08年播映季的主題曲。
