The Edge of Glory創作背景

Lady Gaga在採訪中表示，《The Edge of Glory》創作於Lady Gaga祖父去世的期間。在Lady Gaga和她的父親坐在鋼琴邊一起悼念祖父的時候，Lady Gaga希望用歌曲來銘記這個傷心的時刻，便突然有感而發。回想起兒時與祖父生活上的一點一滴，特別是臨終時，全家人陪伴的場景，創作了該曲。直到創作的完成，Lady Gaga的父親和Lady Gaga都為這次的創作感到非常激動，甚至感觸落淚。

The Edge of Glory歌曲鑑賞

《The Edge of Glory》加入了流行曲目裏的很少見的薩克斯風風格，薩克斯的感覺並不遜色吉他，薩克斯樂配合着歌曲的旋律和節奏^[2] 。歌曲以技術搖滾（techno rock）、布魯斯·斯普林斯廷式的舞蹈節拍來演奏，歌曲的風格被定義為電子搖滾、流行舞曲以及合成器流行樂。歌曲的簡譜由A大調構成，每分鐘擁有128次的節拍^[3] 。歌曲主旨在於紀念Gaga已故的祖父，以及提醒人們珍惜自己所擁有的^[4] 。
