歌曲《Take a ride》是劉力揚攜製作團隊在500多天的時間裏不斷磨練沉澱與調整後的心血之作，劉力揚聯合DJ兼製作人Dexter King經過多次的修改推翻和不斷潤色才最終完成了該曲^[4] 。之所以打造這首電子公路音樂，是因為劉力揚個人具有一點公路情節，她喜歡寫出一些有前進感的東西，加上平時也喜歡公路電影，所以繼推出歌曲《旅途》後再次打造公路主題的歌曲^[5] 。

2015年11月，劉力揚在上海拍攝《Take a ride》的MV。此前，劉力揚在歌曲《Set you free》中嘗試了全球創新光繪技術後獲得了頗多好評，“愛折騰”的劉力揚決定繼續對世界上的新鮮事物充滿好奇心與嘗試的勇氣，因此該曲的MV攝製最終決定與上海動態捕捉、平面立體成像等技術團隊合作，該曲MV設計了偵探大片劇情，也是劉力揚首次嘗試演繹劇情MV^[3] 。
