凱蒂·佩裏曾解釋《Swish Swish》是一首為鼓勵受到霸凌的人而寫的歌。在《詹姆斯·柯登深夜秀》中，凱蒂·佩裏承認這首歌是寫給泰勒·斯威夫特的。兩人當時因為舞伴的事情（可參閲泰勒·斯威夫特與凱蒂·佩裏不和事件）由原來的好友關係開始不和。但凱蒂·佩裏個人認為是泰勒·斯威夫特引發這場事情在先，她曾向泰勒·斯威夫特示好，但泰勒·斯威夫特並不領情，甚至寫了一首歌《Bad Blood》來回擊，所以凱蒂·佩裏決定讓泰勒·斯威夫特自己處理，並寫了一首《Swish Swish》進行回擊
