Starships創作背景

  • 《Va Va Voom》的發行被推遲後，《Starships》代替了它成為首發單曲發行。
  • 起初，由於創作者的不同，《Starships》有不同的歌詞。後來，RedOne認為這首歌適合妮琪·米娜，於是他就把這首歌介紹給了她，妮琪便為之瘋狂，但她要求自己創作歌詞。得到了創作者的認可後，她去錄音室開始創作歌詞，她喃喃自語並把腦海中第一個想到的東西寫了下來：“let's go to the beach... let's go get away...”。 [5]

Starships歌曲鑑賞

《Starships》猶如《Super Bass》不那麼俗氣的版本，又像是模仿LMFAO的《Sexy and I Know It》和蕾哈娜的《We Found Love》的失敗作品，它既不像流行歌曲，又不像嘻哈歌曲。該歌曲展現出，比起Rap，妮琪·米娜並不適合Sing和創作歌詞。該歌曲各部分合在一起顯得不太協調。“Starships were meant to fly!”就像是凱蒂·佩裏的《Firework》中的“Baby, you’re a firework!” [8-11]  。
