something in the way

科特·科本（Kurt Cobain）離開家以後，遊蕩在窒息的阿伯丁街巷，睏倦時蜷縮在阿伯丁北橋的橋洞中睡去。在這裏他就着餘陽感受着亞瑟·蘭波（Arthur Rimbaud）、威廉·巴勒斯（William Burroughs）、S.E.Hinton等人的幻境與抑鬱而無力自拔。風雨寒夜中他躺在土坑裏期望着日出時的温暖。飢餓了他從威西卡河暗綠的河水中釣些小魚充飢，直到有人告訴他這裏的魚有毒只好作罷。多年以後北橋橋墩上仍可看到當年科特留下的塗鴉和文字。《something in the way》記錄的就是科特那段日子。 ^[1]

The tarp has sprung a leak 遮雨的地方已生出了裂縫。

And the animals I've trapped 我抓到的小動物們，

Have all become my pets 最後都成了我的寵物。

And I'm leaving off of grass 我避開了那些草，

And the drippings from the ceiling 還有那些頂上滴落的水。

But it's ok to eat fish 但這並不影響我吃魚，

Cause they haven't any feelings 因為它們沒有任何感覺。
