Simian Mobile Disco

James Ford除了是Simian Mobile Disco的成員以外，他還與很多樂隊合作，如Florence & the Machine，Arctic Monkeys Peaches 和 Klaxons。在2007年以榮獲Q、All Music Guide等傳媒4星好評的電音大碟‘Attack Decay Sustain Release’。兩人在首張專輯打響名號後，瞬間成了Bjork、Muse、Arctic Monkeys、Peaches、Klaxons、Little Boots等藝人/樂團爭相邀請擔任單曲混音或專輯製作的大忙人，2009年夏季，S.M.D.樂團將以專輯【Temporary Pleasure】掀起另一波的電音熱浪。

英國曼徹斯特大學的同學James Ford與Jas Shaw，一個主修生物學，一個主修哲學，這兩個同學沒事就愛在學校宿舍搞一些怪里怪氣的電音派對，兩人跟深受民謠音樂啓發的創作型歌手Simon Lord與彈貝斯的Alex MacNaughten在2000年的時候，跟隨着當時由Broadcast、The Beta Band等樂團所帶起的一種結合傳統搖滾歌曲創作與電音節奏的潮流風格，組了一個名叫Simian的電子搖滾樂團，由於James與Jas不喜歡他們好像是在一支搖滾樂團中負責節奏操盤的感覺，Simian在2005年宣告拆夥，兩人另組了Simian Mobile Disco(以下簡稱S.M.D.)樂團。SMD最早他們發行了一些單曲。比如在I'm A Cliche 發行的"The Mighty Atom / Boatrace / Upside Down"和在Kitsune Music發行的"The Count"。但是明顯的，他們通過這些單曲，他們的名氣比他們為一些著名樂隊混音的單曲如Muse, Klaxons, The Go! Team, Air 等的更要著名。2006年Kitsune Music發行了SMD與紐約一名女主唱Char Johnson.合作的的地下名曲"HUSTLER"

這個樂隊的首張專輯Attack Decay Sustain Release發行於2007年6月18日。專輯包括大熱曲目如"Hustler","Tits and Acid", "I Believe", "Hot Dog"和與英國樂隊The Go! Team女主唱Ninja合作的 "It's the Beat"，這張專輯也包括五首新曲，歐美版贈送黑膠唱片。 唱片曲目也被混音後當作電視劇歌曲。

SMD2007年12月5日為Klaxons在Brixton Academy助演 ，2007年12月9日和2007年12月12日為The Chemical Brothers在Aintree Pavilion和Brighton Centre助演。

當他們製作第二張專輯時，他們發行了一張混音版專輯Sample And Hold。這張專輯包括11首歌曲，與2008年7月在英國發行。2009年1月，他們在自己的Myspace主頁上宣佈將在2009年發行新專輯。在2月12日他們發佈了第一首單曲"Synthesise"和其MV。兩天後，一首叫"10,000 Horses Can't Be Wrong"的歌曲在BBC Radio 1上播放。3月6日在他們的Youtube頻道上發佈了官方MV。

他們的第二張專輯Temporary Pleasure在5月6日發行，他們與很多音樂人合作了這張專輯，如Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals, Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, Beth Ditto of Gossip,和Chris Keating of Yeasayer。

在為他們為BBC Radio 1製作的歌曲宣傳期間，他們暗示期待會在2010年發行第三張專輯。

2010年3月，DJ Duo宣佈説會舉辦 Club Night Project－－'Delicatessen'。並會在5月下旬在此活動上發佈第首單曲。最新的兩首單曲為"Aspic" 和"Nerve Salad".。SMD説他們新專輯的每首單曲都是以異國元素命名，並表示這樣非常新奇，和“美味”。
