賈斯汀·汀布萊克於2005年12月在美國維吉尼亞的托馬斯皇冠工作室完成該首歌的錄製 ^[6]  。

2005年12月，賈斯汀開始第二張專輯《FutureSex/LoveSounds》的工作，而《SexyBack》在不到一天的時間內就錄製完成 ^[6]  。該首歌的編曲是吉米·道格拉斯用PRO tools完成的 ^[7]  。

錄製的前一天，賈斯汀和提姆巴蘭受到了大衞·鮑威的《Rebel Rebel》和The Rapture的《House of Jealous Lovers》得啓發。賈斯汀認為演唱這首歌大衞·鮑伊和Talking Heads主唱大衞·伯恩在演唱詹姆斯·布朗的《Sex Machine》一樣 ^[8-9]  。

《Sexy Back》的音樂錄影帶由邁克爾·霍斯曼執導，女主角由西班牙演員埃琳納·安娜亞飾演 ^[15]  。視頻於2006年6月拍攝，為了配合歌曲《Sexy Back》的性感格調，唱片公司斥資到巴塞羅那取景 ^[16]  。2006年7月25日，視頻在MTV頻道首播 ^[15]  。

視頻極具《007》電影味道。視頻開場先是展示巴塞羅那的明媚風光，然後特務賈斯汀與潛藏酒店鄰房的性感女特務互相偷窺監聽，兩人先口角繼而動武，在酒店房間肉搏連場，最後賈斯汀發現身陷險境，成功從陽台逃脱，終能避過房間爆炸，完成任務 ^[16]  。
