《Rescue Me》是一首半説唱型式的浩室舞曲，由於《Vogue》的成功，麥當娜·西科尼開始製作出如浩室音樂這種類型的舞曲，《Rescue Me》和《Justify My Love》也是典型的説唱、浩室音樂兩種曲風結合成的最佳例子。

《Rescue Me》挾着上一首單曲《Justify My Love》獲得兩週冠軍的餘威，在1991年3月2日打入公告牌百強單曲榜前20名之內——空降第15名 ^[3]  ，創下麥當娜·西科尼單曲的“首周最高進榜名次”紀錄。但可惜的是，這首單曲推出時間距離上一首《證明我的愛》過久，不論是在電台DJ的播放率或是歌迷的喜愛熱度都已經下降，再者也沒有重大現場演出以及拍攝音樂影片來加強廣告宣傳，因此《Rescue Me》在公告牌百強單曲榜上爬升的後勁不足，最終造成《Rescue Me》僅進入公告牌百強單曲榜前十名之內，位列第九號榜位（1991年3月23日）。而後，《Rescue Me》在後續無力的情況之下開始下滑 ^[4]  。據統計，該單曲在公告牌百強單曲榜內一共停留了8周時間，而這也創下麥當娜·西科尼單曲在該榜停留時間最短的紀錄。
