Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang這支歌曲出自美國幫派饒舌歌手Dr.Dre於1992年發行的第一張個人專輯The Chronic。這首與説唱歌手Snoop Doggy Dogg合作的歌曲是專輯中的第一支單曲。Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang在公告牌百大熱門單曲中取得了第二的好成績，比出自The Chronic中的其它單曲表現更為出色（Fuck wit Dre Day巔峯時達到了第八位，Let Me Ride則達到了第34位）。Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang同時也在公告牌最熱藍調/嘻哈歌曲榜單中成為冠軍單曲。在英國，這首歌曲也是一大熱門，於榜單中達到了第31位的排名。

Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang被搖滾名人堂選為推動搖滾成型的500首歌曲之一。XXL雜誌認為這首歌曲是十年來最出色的説唱歌曲。

這首歌曲的MV由Dr.Dre執導，描述的是Dre去到了加州長灘，帶SnoopDogg參加一個大派對的種種畫面。到達了派對，伴隨着一旁進行着的燒烤與排球比賽，他們開始了歌曲的第一段演唱。一位女性的比基尼在比賽中脱落，露出了她的乳房。第二段中，Dre和Snoop進了房子裏，從幾個鏡頭中，一個女人被酒精噴了一臉。派對結束後，Dre把Snoop載到了家裏，下車後Snoop吐了一地。

Dr. Dre，原名安德烈·羅梅勒·楊（André Romelle Young），1965年2月18日出生於美國加利福利亞州康普頓，美國説唱歌手、音樂製作人、演員、商人，Aftermath娛樂公司和Beats By Dr.Dre耳機公司CEO，前説唱團體N.W.A的成員。

Snoop Dogg，西岸説唱巨星，出道專輯一發售就空降Billboard專輯排行榜冠軍。他是第1位第1張專輯就奪冠的歌手。當Dr. dre找到Snoop Doggy Dogg讓他在唱片《The Chronic》裏展露頭腳，並使其迅速成為明星的時候，Snoop Doggy Dogg不過還是個混跡於猶太人聚集區的一個潑皮，所以説機會造就人才這話一點不錯，這兩個人的第一次合作就是幫匪説唱樂的座標原點。流暢的G-Funk節奏加上幫派色彩強烈的歌詞給當時的主流音樂界帶來了不小的衝擊，於是人們都被嚇着了，他們跳起來大聲地叫着“我們找到新音樂了”，誰想到這種音樂最後卻帶來了無休止的仇殺。Snoop Doggy Dogg用他特有淫蕩的西海岸鼻音吹噓着自己放蕩的生活方式，為涉世不深的孩子描繪着新的美利堅之夢。 而後Snoop Doggy Dogg曾改名為Snoop Dogg，2012年7月，又再度改名為Snoop Lion。

1992年，Dr.Dre邀請史努比·狗狗共同演唱了電影《Deep Cover》的主題曲，並邀請他在自己的第一張個人專輯《The Chronic》中獻聲；同年，史努比·狗狗與死囚唱片簽約。

1993年，史努比·狗狗擔任了Dr.Dre的單曲《Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang》、《Dre Day》的主唱，這兩首歌都進入了音樂榜單Pop Crossover Hits的前十；11月，史努比·狗狗發佈首張個人專輯《Doggystyle》，專輯發售的首周就空降美國公告牌專輯榜冠軍。
