New Divide歌曲鑑賞

《New Divide》再次延續了《What I’ve Done》的風格，而且完美地捕捉到了電影《變形金剛2》的精髓^[1] 。雖然只有查斯特·貝寧頓的憤怒呼喊聲，而沒有麥克·信田的説唱，但是整首歌曲並沒有令人失望，特別是在歌曲中間部分加入的機械般的即興重複段，不但和電影相當吻合，而且也能令聽眾為之激動^[2] 。

《New Divide》是一首完全沒有説唱的全搖滾歌曲，這或許印證了樂隊風格的細微轉變。不過它依然出色地滿足了一部暑期電影主題曲的所有要求：大氣磅礴的歌詞、對道德衝突的追問和解答以及對兒女情長的一笑而過。和其他作品一樣，這首歌是以查斯特·貝寧頓宏大而奔放的獨唱開場，隨着鼓聲的爆響，曲調直入雲霄，似有山雨欲來之勢；冷酷的金屬感不僅與電影的主題相得益彰，和樂隊一貫以來的鋭利風格也是一脈相承。這首歌完美地契合了電影的緊張節奏^[7] 。
