morning has broken

Morning Has Broken（破曉）是二十世紀七十年代英國民謠搖滾歌手Cat Stevens（凱特·斯蒂文斯）的代表作之一，歌曲收錄在個人第五張錄音室專輯《Teaser and the Firecat》（1971年）中。

注：此曲的鋼琴伴奏為英國著名搖滾樂隊Yes鍵盤手Rick Wakeman。

有一次，Cat Stevens在書店裏看到一本有關於讚美詩的書。這是一本兒童讚美詩，由英國新體詩女詩Eleanor Farjeon（1881～1965）所編撰。他的目光偶然落在其中的一首（也是最受歡迎的一首）：Morning Has Broken上，這使當時正處於靈感枯竭期的他興奮無比，他發現其中的詩句及觀念真的很棒，就當即決定為之鋪上和旋，使之成為自己的歌。

Morning Has Broken這首讚美詩寫於1931年的一個老蓋爾整修的，蘇格蘭村莊Bunessan。不知道1979年Cat Stevens皈依宗教是否因為它，但肯定脱不了干係。因為這首讚歌是對神的讚美，感恩神帶來了黎明，讓世界在每一天都得以重生。

Yusuf Islam尤素福·伊斯拉姆（1948年7月21日— ；原名：Steven Demetre Georgiou 斯蒂文·德米特·喬治烏；藝名：Cat Stevens凱特·斯蒂文斯）是二十世紀七十年代英國民謠搖滾的代表人物，1965年被製作人Mike Hurst發現後，以Cat Stevens為藝名，開始其創作生涯，1967年3月發行個人首張唱片《Matthew and Son》，1968年因感染肺結核暫別歌壇，1970年以《Mona Bone Jakon》復出，此後推出民謠搖滾史上經典之作《Tea for the Tillerman》（1970年）、《Teaser and the Firecat》（1971年），七十年代發行七張Top 10專輯，1977年底皈依伊斯蘭教，次年改名為Yusuf Islam，1979年底退出歌壇。2006年在告別歌壇近三十年後發行其首張流行音樂專輯《An Other Cup》，最新專輯《Tell 'Em I'm Gone》於2014年10月27日由在索尼旗下的Legacy廠牌發行發行。 ^[3]
