Million Reasons創作背景

2016年，新視鏡唱片公司的管理人員Aaron Bay-Schuck在聽過專輯《Joanne》的最初設想後，將Lady Gaga介紹給了鄉村音樂人希拉里·林賽，之後Lady Gaga給希拉里·林賽播放了一系列她自己創作的小樣帶 [2]  。Lady Gaga給希拉里·林賽講述了幾首歌的背後故事，而《Million Reasons》是其中一首，於是希拉里·林賽加入了該曲的創作 [3]  。對於該曲，Lady Gaga表示她生命中遇到的的所有男性，包括父親和交往過的男友，總是給Lady Gaga“百萬個理由”離開，而Lady Gaga只想用一個理由讓自己堅持下去 [4]  。
