Me Against The Music

在2003年美國MTV音樂錄影帶獎排練節目時，布蘭妮向麥當娜表演了《Me Against the Music》的錄製版本，麥當娜在布蘭妮的邀請後確認合作 ^[2]  ，並把她的錄唱部分加入該曲中，做了一些改編。2003年9月16日，布蘭妮自作主張地將《Me Against the Music》列為《In The Zone》的首單 ^[2]  。布蘭妮想通過《Me Against The Music》表達大眾對音樂的熱愛，並讓她在音樂的各方面達到極限 ^[3]  。

《Me Against The Music》作為《In the Zone》的開篇舞曲，整體編曲結構極具層次感，既為該專打下基礎，又點出了該專的韻致，完成了引導聽者探索該專的使命。2003年，作為新人的布蘭妮和出道幾十年的麥當娜的這次合作彷彿是新舊一代Diva的接替，具有巨大的話題度，且歌曲本身的質量也能與話題度成正比，足以盤踞舞場 ^[6-10]  。

《Me Against the Music》的MV由保羅·亨特執導，於2003年10月在紐約長島的銀盃影城歷時3天拍攝完成 ^[11]  。MV中，黑西裝的布蘭妮·和白西裝的麥當娜在夜店的兩極一邊熱舞，一邊玩着類似於貓捉老鼠的遊戲，最終布蘭妮找到了麥當娜，在她準備親吻麥當娜時，麥當娜突然消失，MV隨之結束。布蘭妮稱她親吻麥當娜的那一幕不是有意暗示女同性戀傾向 ^[12-14]  。
