Mary Chapin Carpenter人物生平
生於美國新澤西州的Mary Chapin Carpenter，自幼在美、日東西兩種不同文化環境中成長，培養出了Mary她創作中對人事物敏鋭的觀察力，以及多方位的思考模式。大學畢業後，Mary在日間工作之餘，夜間在美國首府華盛頓地區的一些酒吧演唱。如同許多歌壇巨星一般，在酒吧表演期間，Mary亦獲得了唱片公司伯樂的青睞，被簽入哥倫比亞唱片旗下。Mary於87年發表首張專輯《Hometown Girl》，以温柔中同時兼存慧黠與些許憂鬱的聲音引起四方注目。90、93年分別以專輯《Shooting Straight In The Dark》及專輯《State》榮膺格萊美獎最佳鄉村女歌手，94年以專輯《Stones In The Road》 獲格萊美獎最佳鄉村女歌手及最佳鄉村專輯等獎項，展示出Mary卓越的音樂才華。
