《Lighters》最初由Royce da 5'9"一個人完成，還準備收錄在他的個人專輯《Success Is Certain》中。Royce da 5'9"把歌曲的伴奏寄給埃米納姆後，埃米納姆靈感大發並希望由自己來完成第一段的主歌部分。埃米納姆和Royce da 5'9"重組為Bad Meets Evil後，飛往了洛杉磯，並拜訪了布魯諾·馬爾斯並與其合作 ^[6]  。歌曲的錄製在密歇根弗恩代爾的Effigy工作室、洛杉磯的Isolation和Levcon工作室三個地方完成 ^[7]  。

《Lighters》是一首另類嘻哈歌曲，還帶有電音流行和靈魂音樂的色彩，歌曲的音調以C大調為主，擁有每分鐘93次的適度節拍，布魯諾·馬爾斯的音域控制在C4到C5之間 ^[9]  。布魯諾·馬爾斯為歌曲演唱副歌，頓時讓一首匪幫説唱顯出柔情一面。歌曲裏埃米納姆的戲份並不濃重，唯獨布魯諾·瑪斯的助唱成為亮點，當毒舌不再以罵人過癮為目的，就是抒情動情的開始 ^[10]  。

《Lighters》的音樂錄影帶從2011年7月20日在洛杉磯開始拍攝，由瑞奇·李指導，休·傑克曼在MV友情客串 ^[11]  ，於2011年8月22日在VEVO上發佈 ^[12]  。

MV開頭，布魯諾·馬爾斯坐在鋼琴前演唱《Lighters》，而埃米納姆則在一個凌亂的客廳的長椅上躺着。隨後，埃米納姆拿着筆記本開始説唱，之後，他在房間地板上發現一個活門，他從活門下去。於是他開始在閃着紅色燈光的地下隧道里説唱。Royce da 5'9"則在一個囚房裏出現，他打開囚門也進入了這個隧道。MV最後，所有人出現在洛杉磯後山上，若干個孔明燈緩緩昇天 ^[12]  。
