“Leave Me Alone”作為《Bad》專輯的第8只單曲發行於1989年2月。在英國，它排名第2，成為專輯中在英國榜上排名第二高的單曲。 後來大多數《Bad》的單曲都因為市場被專輯銷售吞噬而排名不佳，事實上，《Bad》已經成為英國有史以來第2最暢銷的專輯；同時，單曲碟內由於沒有新素材的加入而難以引起人們的購買慾。“Leave Me Alone”單曲同樣沒有新素材的加入，而且它只能在CD格式的《Bad》專輯上找到。當時，並沒有很多英國人擁有CD唱盤機，而且專輯的CD銷售也不足專輯總銷售量的25%。因此，很多人通過購買單曲來收藏該曲，從而讓它在榜上取得了成功。

遺憾的是它沒有在美國發行。在《Bad》專輯已經擁有美國曆史上最好單曲排名的情況下，不發行該曲的原因讓人不解。有人猜測是Sony/Epic美國總部想致力於對其他藝人的培養和宣傳，而不是去再發行第8張單曲。另外值得一提的是：《Bad》專輯在美國的銷量遠遠不如《Thriller》專輯，但它在英國的銷量卻超過了《Thriller》。

它在世界範圍內的表現相對較弱，在德國和法國，它僅打進前20名，而在意大利和澳洲，則完全失敗。

來自於澳洲布里斯本的The Veronicas是由兩個雙胞胎姐妹(是同卵雙胞胎)Lisa和Jessica。她們自己寫歌，自己唱歌。兩人擁有意大利的血統。兩人在澳洲布里斯本出生長大，也在那完成高中學業。

姊妹倆在年紀很小時，就充分的展現表演天份，曾經在許多當地電視節目中表演過。之後她們開始玩音樂，一開始是用Lisa and Jessica這個團名表演，隨後又更名為The Teal。
