Lars Ulrich

Lars Ulrich,1963年12月26日出生在丹麥Gentofte.是美國著名重金屬樂隊Metallica的創建者之一,一直是Metallica的鼓手.

Lars的家庭是丹麥中產階級,他的父親Torben Ulrich是丹麥七十年代到八十年代初的有名氣的網球手,同時精通爵士樂,傳奇薩克斯手Dexter Gordon是Lars Ulrich的教父.

1973年2月份,因為他父親在哥本哈根體育場有網球賽事,所有他擁有體育場的出入證,而那時Deep Purple也在這個體育場舉行現場演唱會.原本他父親是和朋友一起去看現場的,但是有個朋友沒來,於是就帶了當時9歲多的Lars Ulrich去看了Deep Purple現場.不料才9歲多的Lars從此被搖滾樂吸引住了,第二天他就去買了Deep Purple的Fireball專輯.Deep Purple和這張專輯Fireball對Lars產生了啓蒙,把他帶入了搖滾樂.13歲的時候開始練習打鼓(或許他父親也在搞爵士樂吧,所以去練鼓?).即使如此,他父親也以為這是Lars的愛好,他決定把Lars送到美國去練打網球.

到了美國的Lars Ulrich,發現了英國重金屬樂隊Diamond Head,從此成為Diamond Head鐵桿歌迷,Diamond Head對以後Metallica影響非常大.而在同一時期,他在洛杉磯當地報紙The Recycler上看見了James Hetfield的廣告,於是他和James Hetfield碰面了,兩人都對英國重金屬新浪潮很喜歡,Metallica於是就這樣誕生了.

Metallica一直是被譽為Thrash Metal開創樂隊,Metallica起初Thrash風格的歌曲中許多快速的鼓點是Lars獨自創作的,比如Kill 'Em All中的"Metal Militia", Ride the Lightning中的"Fight Fire With Fire",...And Justice for All中的 "Dyers Eve"以及Master of Puppets的"Battery".但是隨着Metallica的名氣越來越大,也煩惱過許多炫麗的鼓技,不過還是很多經典的片段,比如"One"後段快速雙踩和"Enter Sandman"的開頭那段.

2000年4月起,Lars反對Napster,認為這是侵犯了Metallica的版權,並對Napster提起訴訟,結果引來許多人的不滿,這些歌迷把Lars Ulrich刻畫成一個有貪婪又自負的形象.
