《La Isla Bonita》因為在流行舞曲的架構上引入了西班牙風情的元素，而使得全曲顯得拉丁味道十足，在1980年代盛行迪斯科、新浪潮的美國樂壇，這樣的融合與跨界也是一種頗為創新的嘗試。樂曲的前奏部分通過清脆的主調，結合強烈的節奏伴奏而表現的渾厚細膩，演唱聲音柔和、不刺耳。歌曲裏多種打擊器樂的融合體現出良好的下潛，乾脆不拖沓。初聽歌時，一股撲耳襲來的氣息帶來了熱帶島嶼綺麗的風光和景色，桑巴鼓點的節奏渲染出熱烈的氣氛，歡快的曲調，節奏感極強

為了配合《La Isla Bonita》的西班牙曲風，麥當娜·西科尼不惜將西班牙式的小島生活場景搬上MV，還挽起頭髮，親自披掛隆重的火紅弗拉明戈荷葉舞衣，為觀眾獻上一段意態撩人的西班牙舞蹈，紅妝上陣的她分外明豔照人，宛如使人置身於熱帶島嶼中。此外，麥當娜·西科尼還在劇情前扮演了另一個角色：一名梳着短髮、身穿白色背心且具有封建宗教信仰的年輕女子，她在窗外看着街上歡快載歌載舞的人羣，默默的流淚，只因她受到天主教封建思想的限制，不能加入到他們的行列，她跪在房間裏虔誠地敬拜着她所信仰的天主。而這兩個角色也分別象徵着“拋開封建思想的激情”與“天主教的束縛”
