Kill Bill創作背景

《Kill Bill》的靈感來源於同名電影《殺死比爾》中新娘的復仇故事。羅伯·比塞爾首先在錄音室用合成器錄了幾個和絃。卡特·朗接手後為和絃填上了打擊樂——用踩鑔（Hi-Hat）演奏了幾個十六分音符，加上了聽起來有彈性的踢鼓（Kicks），還加上了快節奏的808小鼓。之後，他又用從vintage鼓機導入了他喜歡的聲音，使得歌曲具有更多的搖擺感。接着，他又加入了電貝斯和吉他。他在一個片段調低一個八度，並讓鼓的速度減慢兩倍，做出了歌曲最初的鼓點（beats）。他給這個鼓點起名為“Igloo”。幾周後，他們在錄音室把這個片段放給SZA聽。當時SZA看起來只是安靜地坐在錄音室後面玩手機，沉默了十分鐘後，她有了靈感，唱出了歌曲的副歌部分，花了一個小時寫出了這首歌^[3] 。
